January 1 to February 28, 2009: Gallery Los Olivos presents: “Explorations In Art” All Glo member show “Explorations in Art” is a new (never before tried) show at Gallery Los Olivos during January and February of 2010. This show will be on exhibit from Friday, January 1st through Sunday, February 28th. A reception with the artists will be held Saturday, January 16th, 2 - 4 p.m. This exhibit will showcase the talents of current Gallery Members. The front gallery will be aglow with art work different from each artist's current media, style, technique, or format. For example, watercolor artist Martha Inman Lorch will enter a digitally manipulated image as well as a collaborative piece with photographer Paul Roark. Paul, who has developed his own inks, will ink an image onto watercolor paper and Martha will bring the image to completion with her watercolors. Jeweler Patricia Watkins will display watercolor and pastel chalks inspired by Spanish architecture which abounds in our state. Minnie Anderson, who currently shows traditional graphite portraits, will hang big bold abstracts in acrylics. Thus this show will be about the individual growth, exploration, and expansion of each artist's comfort zone. What is art, if not this! The gallery is located at 2920 Grand Avenue in Los Olivos, CA, telephone (805) 688-7517, open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information www.gallerylosolivos.com |

Olde
Fashioned Christmas in Los Olivos You are invited to attend Los Olivos’ “Olde Fashioned Christmas.” Held on December 5th, this event sponsored by the Los Olivos Business Organization, recreates some of the atmosphere of a Victorian Christmas. Saturday, December 5, 2009 Revive childhood excitement on the quaint streets of Los Olivos as we celebrate Olde Fashioned Christmas. The streets will be adorned with luminaries and the smell of popcorn and roasted walnuts wafting through the evening air. Local merchants will welcome guests with open house events and refreshments. Olde Fashioned Christmas is a romantic return to small town holiday celebration. Olde Fashioned Christmas will feature musical performances from our talented adults and students from the valley with both wind and choral performances. There is also an opportunity to relive Americana at its best with a bag of popcorn or roasted walnuts. Of course, the evening celebration would not be complete without the greatly anticipated visit from Santa Claus, ready to hear requests in front of the Judith Hale Gallery from 4 pm to 6 pm. Enjoy his arrival into town in horse drawn carriage with Bent Clausen. The highlight of the evening is the tree lighting ceremony by our “Little Angel”. Gather with friends, family, and our community at 6:00 at the flagpole as this year’s “Little Angel” lights the tree. Step back in time Saturday, December 6th, 3:00
to 7:00 pm.
