Solminer is a biodynamic farm in Los Olivos owned by husband and wife, David and Anna deLaski. The 12-acre Demeter certified Biodynamic® farm is just 0.5 miles away from downtown Los Olivos, where you can find the Solminer tasting room open at 11am 7 days a week. With a vineyard and tasting room located in Los Olivos, Solminer is proud to offer farm to glass wines.
Solminer, as in “mining-the-sun” began in 2012 when Anna and David bought their homestead vineyard. The vineyard was named “deLanda,” a combination of their first and last names to reflect their personal desire to produce natural wines using varietals related to their Austrian heritage. Certified organic in 2014 and Biodynamic® in 2018 deLanda is evolving as they evolve as farmers. Ultimately it shines with individuality and biodiversity as they incorporate chickens, donkeys, sheep, bees, fruit trees, native plants, biodynamic compost, preparations and herb teas all to support the microorganisms in the dirt and health of the vineyard.
The Los Olivos tasting room showcases the entire Solminer production, offering wine tasting flights, wines by the glass or bottle, organic olive oil, hats, candles and a myriad of other fun things to bring home after a visit to Los Olivos. Wines include their Austrian inspired bottlings like Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkish, St. Laurent and Dry Riesling and also bottlings typical to the area such as Syrah and Pinot Noir. Solminer makes a few sparkling wines including a sparkling Riesling, sparkling pét-nat rosé and sparkling red wine.
